So my dad finished up our RamJet 350 swap into a ’63 SS Nova. Today, it was dry, so we decided to take it out for a few spins down the road and back. Unfortunately, the exhaust was so loud at times that it buzzed the camera microphone. Not a big deal though. Hope you enjoy! ~Yod

I decided to post a car that is a little more affordable this time. This 1973 Chevy Nova Custom is a one-owner car with only 66,xxx actual miles. It’s powered by it’s original, numbers matching, 350 small-block. It also retains all of it’s original interior. I always enjoy finding original survivors like this. First year for the Volare, the replacement for the Plymouth Valiant introduction promo. This film was created for Chrysler Plymouth Dealer Salesmen to introduce them with the brand new from the ground up car. In the first model year for the Volare, 255008 Volares were produced. Although this film portrays the car as quality built, it was plagued by poor build quality and a number of Recalls. One major recall was to replace front fenders which rusted on the tops of the part. As a teenager working in a Chrysler owned Dodge Dealer (factory owned store) we did hundreds of fender replacement for literally years. Our own family’s 77 Dodge Diplomat received new fenders under the Aspen and Volare recall and warranty. Many will remember the TV commercials which featured Sergio Frankie Singing the song “Volare”.

In 1973 this Chevrolet Nova came into the world with an attitude. Under the hood is a 350ci V8 with a turbo 350 automatic transmission. This black with black interior Nova looks great with the chrome custom wheels with 225/45/17 on the front and 255/40/18 on the rear. Restored in 2008 back to this beautiful condition. Optioned with an AM/FM/CD radio, power front disc brakes and power steering. 1965 Chevrolet Nova Chevy II Drag Car. It has an all steel body with glass windows, and has a square tube chassis with a moly tube front end with coil over suspension and rack and pinion steering. It is powered by a 540 CID Chevy big block MPG race engine with a Merlin block, Eagle crank and rods, JE pistons, Brodex heads, Comp Cams full roller assembly, Holley Dominator carburetor, MSD 7A ignition, and the engine has never been sprayed! This setup comes in at about 800 horsepower with tons of torque to go along with it. This is hooked up to a Powerglide transmission with a TCI brake and a 4500 stall converter. The rear end is a Dana 60 with a 4.88 spool and this car has Strange disc brakes. This car only weighs 3400 pounds and there’s only 22 passes on the engine! It had new valve springs installed last year, and the tires are a mere two years old with plenty of life left. This is a true, ready for the strip car! Thanks for watching!
